WIP Wednesday

If you missed last week's WIP it's on Facebook!

Lots of news this week (and proof we do actually finish our projects!)

Firstly, Michelle has finished her daughters cardigan.  A very pretty pattern from Sirdar and her first project in 10 years! It looks amazing and her wee girl modelled it for us at Stitches on Tuesday night.

lovely daisies and beads!

Karen has finished her toddler dress using Drops 4ply Merino

This pattern is free from the Drops website and easy to follow and if you want to knit one too, Karen would recommend:-
  • using a larger circular needle for the frill than stated in the pattern
  • doing both sides of the neck/armhole edges at the same time.
  • and reading on in the pattern, don't just look at what comes next!

Karen's next project is with Colinette One Zero in Velvet. She would like a snood but there is only 2 skeins and so is experimenting with some stitches and has started a scarf and a snood.  On both pieces the dropped stitch is making an interesting texture.

The scarf is thin enough that 2 skeins would be enough to make a scarf long enough to wrap around a couple of times.

Once the snood has used 1 skein she'll make a decision which one to finished....

After his cape for Batman, James (aged 7) has learnt to purl and is now knitting a snowman.  He is nearly finished the base and is looking forward to starting on the head!

Fiona would like to show off her Peggy Sue cardigan, Miss Greenjeans Cardigan and Poppy doll but there has not been much progress...

Instead she knitted a new hat using Artist Palette Yarn's Smoothie Sock and Lena, a pattern published by Quince & Co.

A lovely pattern to knit - simple and effective lace pattern on circular needles.

Its not knitting but check out Laura's blog Cross Stitch A to Z and her amazing cross stitch chess board, which she has been working on at Stitches.

Phew... did we miss anything?
